Our Story
Rooted in Jamaica. Built for growth.
Jamaican Teas Limited has been part of Jamaica’s business landscape since 1967, when the company began operations as Tetley Tea Co. (Jamaica) Limited, producing and packing black tea under the Tetley brand.
A new chapter began in 1995 when the company was acquired by Adeeb and John Mahfood. What started primarily as a traditional tea business soon evolved through product innovation, new market opportunities and the introduction of Caribbean Dreams, a proudly Jamaican brand initially built around herbal teas, infusions and ingredients familiar to Caribbean households.
Over the years, the business expanded beyond traditional tea into a wider portfolio of consumer products while steadily growing its presence in export markets. In 2010, Jamaican Teas Limited became a publicly listed company on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, marking another major milestone in its growth.

Today, Jamaican Teas Limited has evolved into a diversified Jamaican group with interests in consumer goods, manufacturing, retail, real estate and investments. Its consumer business is anchored by two trusted brands; Caribbean Dreams and Tetley Jamaica, serving consumers across Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and international markets.
In 2024, the Group entered its next stage of development by transferring its manufacturing operations to its wholly owned subsidiary, Caribbean Dreams Foods Limited (CDFL). From its manufacturing operations in Temple Hall, CDFL produces and packs teas, beverages, seasonings and other food products, while also providing private-label and contract manufacturing services.
More than five decades after it began, Jamaican Teas continues to grow by building strong brands, developing new businesses and taking Jamaican products and enterprise beyond our shores.
